Skiing, walking, snowshoeing trails open in Crosslake
The Crosslake portion of the Nordic Ridge Trail System is groomed and ready for cross country skiing - both skate and classic.
Walking is not permitted on the groomed ski trails in the winter; however, the Crosslake Parks and Recreation Department has introduced a groomed hiking trail for patrons to use that does not interfere with the groomed ski trails. The walking trail starts next to the Lions picnic shelter west of the Crosslake Community Center.
The groomed trail provides a flat, firm surface for people and pets to enjoy. Crosslake city ordinance requires pets to be leashed while on park property. It is also a requirement that pet owners pick up after their pets when using the park.
The community center offers snowshoe rental and has a designated snowshoe trail. The parks and recreation department also has pond skating and a sledding hill that were created as part of Crosslake WinterFest.
